Week 13

Today I had my first appointment with my OBGYN's office since getting pregnant.  It took about two hours and involved lots of routine paperwork, discussion on family medical history, what to/not to eat, etc.  I had to have 5 things of blood drawn which was no fun but my highlight was getting to hear our baby's heartbeat for the very first time.  My next appointment will be in 4 weeks so I will be around 17 1/2 weeks.  My doctor said they would do an ultrasound then and try to see the gender but didn't want to make any promises.  We, on the other hand, are getting very anxious and would like to find out the gender today!!! :)

My mom came and visited for the last four days.  We were able to get a lot of ideas and brainstorming accomplished on the nursery.  We went and picked paint colors and figured out how we want to decorate the walls.  Thankfully, my dad is going to come in a few weeks and paint the nursery while I am at work.  Ralph's mom is going to be re-upholstering a rocker for us to match the nursery which will be a huge help and my father-in-law is making our crib for us.  This is such a special gift and we are so excited to have it for years to come.  We have been blessed with such an amazing family and cannot wait to expand it come October!!!
