Our First Ultrasound

Ralph and I went on Monday, February 14th, to our first ultrasound.  We were both very nervous as we weren't sure what to expect.  Our biggest concern was that the baby was okay and growing.  The doctor did a vaginal ultrasound and determined that I was 5 weeks 6 days pregnant which makes my official due date OCTOBER 11, 2011.   It was so exciting to finally have a date in our heads that we can plan for and get excited about!  She said that everything looked great so far.  We were able to see the gestational sac and  yolk sac but could not see a baby yet.  I started to worry a little bit but she said 5 weeks was still very early to see a baby.  She wants to continue to see us for an ultrasound once a week until we see the baby and hear a heartbeat.  I am scheduled to go back next Thursday, February 24th, so we are hoping we will see some more progress by that point.  I will then be 7 weeks and 4 days.  I have attached our first ultrasound. I know you can't see much but it's our little peanut and we couldn't be prouder! :)
